Art in the Park is a juried art event located in Deep Creek Lake State Park usually on the second weekend in July. Each year 50+ vendors display their original artwork and fine crafts over this two day festival. Food vendors are on site as well as kids interpretive events, tie dye, live animals and a kids art project sponsored by the Garrett Arts Council.

Stage Wisp Series with Optimus Riff- Outdoor Stage Wisp 2019 Concert Series featuring Optimus Riff! You better put your boogie shoes on, because this band brings in tunes for all your dance moves. These events are Free admission. Food & beverage, including alcohol will be for sale on the patio at Wisper's Bar & Grill. Outdoor food and alcohol is not permitted. Adult Book Club - The Accident Adult Book Club meets on the second Thursday of each month
Birding at Deep Creek - You’ll learn how to bird by sight and by ear as we listen for distinctive songs on a stroll through the park. Bring binoculars and meet at the Discovery Center.
Aviary Encouter at the Discover Center - Join us to learn some interesting facts, hear each bird’s story, and watch these amazing raptors eat!
Gardening-So What's This Herb For? - 2:00pm to 3:00pm To event remaining 40 days Join Master Gardener Ashley Bodkins from the University of Maryland Extension Division of AGNR & Natural Resources as we discover how to use herbs in various recipes! Brant Mine Hike - Take a guided hike with the naturalist to the historic Brant Mine. The hike begins in the center in our newly-designed mine room. Once at the mine site you will see the remnants of a coal mine that was operated in the 1920’s. Plus, you never know what wildlife we will see on the way. Approx. 2 hours. Moderate Hike.
Little Yough Summer Music Festival - STEVE SMITH BAND There was the time a chance meeting at a business in Nashville led to Steve jamming with country music legend Charlie Daniels. Or the story about how a 12-year-old boy traded away his dirt bike to get his very first banjo, which Steve learned to play while listening to the radio in his father's car.

Campfire Program- Scales and Tails- Join us at the Amphitheater for a presentation on Maryland’s Snakes and have an opportunity to meet our own animal ambassadors from the Discovery Center. Marshmallows provided. In the event of rain, the program will be held in the Discovery Room of the Discovery Center

Hungry Critters at the Discovery Center - Meet us inside the Discovery Center as we feed the critters! You will be given a chance to touch a live reptile or amphibian!
